I was sent Eucerin DermoPURIFIYER Cleanser, DermoPURIFIYER Scrub & DermoPURIFIYER Crème Gel for product review consideration. Prior to writing this review, I have tried out the product for a week and here's my individual thoughts on each product.

Eucerin DermoPURIFIYER Cleanser is a clear transparent gel-like liquid cleanser. The cleanser is recommended to be applied on a wet face. Apply some of the cleanser onto the palms, massage gently onto the face and work into a lather. It is not scented, but it has a slight clinical smell to it. It foams slightly when massaged gently onto the face. After wash, it does make my skin feel much cleaner than before without any "shiny effects" or "tight feeling" to the skin. I would safely say because of that, it is pretty light and gentle enough to be used on oily, combination & acne-prone skin. It retails locally for SG$21.20 (200ml)

DermoPURIFIYER Scrub is an exfoliating scrub. The scrub is recommended to be used after the cleanser. It is a clear transparent gel-like liquid which comes with mirco green particles. It is slightly scented (a pleasant light smell) and it foams better than the cleanser. The consistency is also much thicker than the cleanser and it is also not as runny & watery as the cleanser. After wash, it does makes my skin cleaner and much much smoother, perhaps due to the scrubbing effect, but it also makes certain parts on my face red, the cheeks especially. It is perhaps a bit too harsh for my skin and I would probably opt for an exfoliator which contains no micro beads. It retails locally for SG$18.60 (100ml)

DermoPURIFIYER Crème Gel is a moisturiser. It is a water-based crème gel which helps to keep the skin hydrated and oil-free. It is recommended to be used after cleansing & toning. The crème gel feels really light on the skin after use and it does not leave sticky, oily feeling after applying. I also feel that it is not too heavy on the skin which is great because overly rich moisturisers usually cause breakouts on my skin. It retails locally for SG$25.70 (50ml)

Sponsored review: Lisselle skincare range

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I was recently sent Lisselle skincare range to try out; namely the Youth Guard Hydrator, Youth Protector Essence and Urbanista Defence Cream SPF 30.

Lisselle is a new brand to the market (founded only this year, 2010) and it focuses in helping women discover their true beauty through their skincare line. Lisselle got its name from a combination of 2 words; "Lisse" which means smooth while ‘lle’ is adopted from the last 3 letters of "Belle" which means beautiful.

They have 5 products up to date and I was given 3 for product review consideration.

L-R: Youth Protector Essence (Serum), Youth Guard Hydrator ( Night Moisturizer) & Urbanista Defence Cream SPF 30 (Tinted Sunblock)

Youth Protector Essence (Serum)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
For full product information, click here.

Lisselle Youth Protector Essence (Serum) is best to be applied on your face and neck in an upward, outward motion. It is suitable for day & night use, and it is to be used after cleansing & toning.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Lisselle Youth Protector Essence (Serum) comes in a pump bottle to make dispensing of product easier. The product is also lightly scented and has a lovely pleasant smell to it.

Unlike other essences that I have tried, which has a gel-like texture and consistency to it, Lisselle Youth Protector Essence (Serum) is a clear transparent liquid and very runny & watery in nature. I prefer it this way because it glides and absorbs into the skin amazingly. It feels really light on the skin too and it does not leave a sticky after-feel like most essences.
Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic
After application, my skin feels very supple, instantly hydrated and moisturized. I am usually wary about essences (serums) because it is usually too rich for my skin and I usually experience breakouts. I tried Lisselle Youth Protector Essence (Serum) for 3 consecutive days and it did not break me out at all!

Urbanista Defence Cream SPF 30 (Tinted Sunblock)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
For full product information, click here.

Lisselle Urbanista Defence Cream SPF 30 (Tinted Sunblock) is best to be applied after Lisselle Youth Protector Essence (Serum). It is recommended to apply a thin layer all over the face then apply more to areas where you need more coverage.

Lisselle Urbanista Defence Cream SPF 30 (Tinted Sunblock) somehow reminds me of BB creams because it comes only in one shade and has a high SPF to it. Most BB creams are too light/too yellow/too grey because it comes in only one shade and usually it is a hit & miss affair because the shade is not compatible with my skintone.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic
First thought after squeezing the product out; it is wayyy too light for my skin. After spreading it out, I still think that it is too light for my skin. However after fully spreading it out, surprisingly it matches my skintone really well! I did a side-by-side comparison of my right hand & left hand and I did not see a stark colour difference at all except for the fact that Lisselle Urbanista Defence Cream SPF 30 (Tinted Sunblock) managed to conceal all the freckles I have on my right hand. Pretty amazing I would say considering it is a one-shade-only product.

I like how it is really light on the skin and feels like I have nothing on but also give the needed coverage required. I tried it out for 3 consecutive days (used it out as a sunscreen cum foundation) and it stays on all day! It also does not oxidize on me nor does it make my skin oily. I also love the fact that it gives an au naturel feel + dewyness to the skin without making it look overdone. Also, with this product I can skip a step since it is a 2-in-1 product.

Youth Guard Hydrator (Night moisturizer)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
For full product information, click here.

Lisselle Youth Guard Hydrator (Night moisturizer) is best to be used as a night cream.

Similar to Lisselle Youth Protector Essence (Serum), Lisselle Youth Guard Hydrator (Night moisturizer) also comes in a pump bottle to make dispensing of product easier. The product is also lightly scented and has a lovely pleasant smell to it.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic
Lisselle Youth Guard Hydrator (Night moisturizer) is a opaque-orange cream based product and it feels very rich on the skin. After spreading it out on my face, it does leave a slight greasy feel (perhaps due to the richness).

This product is best used as a night cream so I have tested this product out for 3 consecutive nights. For 3 days, I wake up with really soft and hydrated skin after using this product the night before. It also does not make my skin oily after I wake up. I have used other night creams before and although it makes my skin really soft and hydrated, it also makes my skin really oily (perhaps due to the richness of the creams).

In all, since I have tested & tried, I would give Lisselle skincare range a thumbs up. The skincare range works well on my skin and it feels gentle on the skin too. I have not suffered any major skin reactions to the products too.

For more information on Lisselle, you can visit their website & their facebook page.

Sponsored review: Banana Boat's reformulated sunscreen lotions & lipbalm

What would you do on a good weather like this?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Usually on good weathers like this I would spend my day lazing by the pool to develop a nice glowy tan, have a good swim or a good run.

Because I do not want to get sunburnt, it's a must for me to use sunscreen ALL OVER MY BODY. Yes, face, neck, arms, legs, you name it. Every part that is exposed to the sun.

My choice? BANANA BOAT.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
L-R: Oil-Free Faces Sunscreen lotion SPF23, Sports Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 and Aloe Vera Vitamin E Lip balm SPF 30

I used to hate using sunscreens years back because most that was available on the market is so thick and hard to spread out...and worse of all, it makes you feel sticky and sweaty all over.

Banana Boat newest formulation is formulated to suit Singapore's humid climate. Their reformulated sunscreens & lipbalm is much lighter than before and more comfortable for daily use. I have tested them out and I have to agree that it is works really well for our humid climate.

The reformulated sunscreens & lipbalm is enriched with aloe vera and vitamin E (has lightening effect properties) and it absorbs really quickly into the skin.

All their sunscreens are water resistant, fragrance free and hypoallergenic and provide broad spectrum protection against skin damage and aging (UVA rays) and sun damage (UVB rays).

Here's my individual thoughts on them.

Oil-Free Faces Sunscreen lotion SPF23

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
For product information, click here.

Banana Boat's Oil-Free Faces Sunscreen lotion SPF23 is suitable for normal to combination skin types. It is dermatologist tested and oil-free which suits skin skin that is prone to breakouts and gets oily in the T-zone area. It also doubles up as a makeup base (apply this before you put on your makeup)

I have tested the products out for a week (used it daily), and here's my daily routine. After cleansing, I slap on Banana Boat's Oil-Free Faces Sunscreen lotion SPF23 onto my bare face.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Spread well using my fingers. It absorbs into the skin pretty fast I would say. PLEASE AVOID THE EYE AREA! It will sting your eye so bad and will make your tear for a few minutes. DAMN PAINFUL. Happened to me on the 1st day of product trial.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Spread any excess onto the neck & ears. (Basically any part that is exposed to the sun chest up)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Face after sunscreen. Notice that there's a slight overall sheen to my face.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Although the Banana Boat's Oil-Free Faces Sunscreen lotion SPF23 has been reformulated, I still experience a bit of stickiness & oiliness on my face after application. I do not know what is the cause of the oiliness since it is oil-free as stated (perhaps I put on too much?) but it definitely helps in making my foundation glide on better as a base.

It is definitely light enough to be used on the face without feeling "heavy" on the skin. Breathable I would say since my face did not perspire after use. Recommended retail price for this item is SG$15.60 for 120ml.

Sports Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
For product information, click here.

Banana Boat's Sport Sunscreen lotion with SPF 50 is the perfect sunscreen when you are out exercising. It is ultra sweatproof & non-greasy (uber great, because you do not need extra stickiness after exercising) and it is waterproof too (stays on even after you sweat like a pig :D )

One great thing about this sunscreen is that it has a high SPF of 50. This would be a great sunscreen if you are out in the sun for long doing recreational activities. Don't have to worry about sun damage at all.

It also has a patented AvoTriplex technology which offers complete 3-way protection against the sun, protecting the skin...
1) against sunburn with high UVB protection
2) against the effects of aging and long-term skin damage with high UVA protection
3) lasts longer under the sun without breaking down

Basically, you do not need to apply your sunscreen as frequently now because it protects the skin for a longer period of time.

I tested this product out alternate days for a week when I was out for a jog in a sunny weather.

I slap on the sunscreen on my arms & legs in appropriate amounts when I head out for a jog.

I would say that it has a similar consistency and texture as the Banana Boat's Oil-Free Faces Sunscreen lotion SPF23. It feels light on the skin although it is a bit sticky and greasy. It also gives a slight sheen to the skin after application.

After a good run out, surprisingly I do not feel extra sticky all over (usually I jog in the gym which is a covered area so I do not put on sunscreen) I would definitely recommend this. Recommended retail price for this item is SG$13.90 for 90ml.

Aloe Vera Vitamin E Lip balm SPF 30

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
For product information, click here.

Banana Boat's Aloe Vera Vitamin E Lip balm SPF 30 contains aloe vera and vitamin E to moisturize and protect chapped, dry lips. One thing that sets it apart from other lipbalms is that it also has SPF 30 to prevent sunburn and protect lips from harsh UV rays.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
It looks like a normal lipbalm, with twisting cap feature and waxy like texture.

I am not lying when I say I have dry, chapped lips. Just look at it...
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
It definitely improves the appearance of my dry lips and it is definitely moisturizing. I guess the SPF is an added feature to make it different from other lipbalms. It stays on pretty long (considering I tested it out for one whole day and I have to eat & drink and it still stays on). Pretty cheap too, recommended retail price for this item is SG$4.95 for 4.25g.

I cannot stress enough as to why we need to use sunscreen on a daily basis. Apart from it being an important part of an overall sun-safety regime to protect the skin and reduce the number of sunburns it also decreases the risk of developing cancer in the future.

Banana Boat will also be having year-end value packs & discounts (up to 25%) at leading retailers so do stock up on your sunscreens before your year-end holiday!
